The Ilsington Festival is a local community event aimed at all ages.
Based around the theme of sustainability, the festival utilises the arts (visual arts, live music, story telling, crafts, sculpture, drama etc.) to bring together the community and create an event that is beneficial to the community in several ways; supporting local schools, artists, musicians and companies and of course providing a local event for the local audience.
Think Green!
The festival will be sustainable in the way it is managed
The festival will run off renewable energy: solar power. The solar power generator being
used is silent and produces no emissions and is being provided by Firefly Solar http://www.fireflysolar.co.uk/events/ilsington-arts-festival.
Car Sharing.
If you are traveling from outside of Ilsington we recommend that you read the Car Sharing
page on this website. This will help us reduce the number of vehicles coming into the village
and reduce C02 emissions.
Leave no trace policy.
We ask that you use the bins at the festival and bring your own water bottles so that we do
not have to use plastic cups.
Using recycled materials.
We are using recyled paper to advertise the festival and will be recycling all that we can.
We would like say a huge thank you to all of our funders and helpers, without whom
the festival would not be taking place. In particular: The Rev. Awdry Trust,
Veronica Chambers, The Dartmoor National Park Authority, Teignbridge Council,
The Dartmoor Trust, Devon County Council, Teign School, South Dartmoor College
and Ilsington Primary School.
